Safety

Smart Tree Care approaches each job with safety in mind.  At the start of a job, a hazard assessment is used  to determine how best to safely carry out the work.  Some of the ways in which we reduce risks include:

  • Completing a pre-job hazard assessment
  • Purchasing and maintaining equipment (the right tool or technique for the job)
  • Climbing trees to piece them down instead of falling them
  • Installing ropes in trees to ensure their fall direction
  • Using ropes to lower and piece apart large branches
  • Following accepted falling practices and standards
  • Attending training and arboriculture workshops to improve skills
  • Communicating with clients to address their concerns
  • Reviewing jobs and looking for ways to improve

Our safety approach is to strive for “continuous improvement” and our goal is to complete each job safely and efficiently.
